Lisa

Flaherty

Executive Assistant &
Operations Coordinator

A California native, Lisa grew up just south of San Francisco in Pacifica, escaped the fog to attend sunny UC San Diego, and crept north to Los Angeles County for work after graduating. Her personal connection to ABA began when her youngest child was diagnosed with autism at age seven. She became active in a local support group for families with loved ones on the autism spectrum.

The transition from feeling like a parent in crisis to one able to provide support to others was empowering. Her work as an executive assistant and legislative researcher for a behavior consultation firm introduced her to CalABA and gave her the opportunity to support the CalABA Public Policy committee for several years, tracking bills that impact the profession of behavior analysis, coordinating legislative visits and grassroots efforts, and researching past, current, and proposed changes to statute.

She joined CalABA staff in 2025 and enjoys supporting the organization, its board of directors, and its members in a more direct and meaningful way.
